Bestival, the “best” festival in the UK, has cast the sails heading towards their next adventure, Bestival Toronto; taking place on Toronto Island, Canada, to be exact. Mark your calendars for June 12th and June 13th and call off work because this is going to be one party you won’t want to miss!
Bestival in the United Kingdom has consistently been one of the top festivals in the country, even garnering a few awards for their performance. Bestival is known to host world-class talent from the electronic and indie music scenes, as well as a multitude of other genres. It appears this incarnation of Bestival Toronto is proving to be no different, with a lineup consisting of top tier talent.
Headliners in the Bestival Toronto 2015 lineup include Florence + The Machine and Nas. Not to mention the incredibly diverse rest of the line up which is occupied by Caribou, Flume, SBTRKT (DJ), Jamie Jones, Robin Schulz, Flosstradamus, Wavves, Jamie xx, Zhu, Clean Bandit, Keys N’ Krates, Skream, Cashmere Cat, Bakermat and so many more.
Bestival may be known as one of the preeminent electronic music festivals in the world, but the level of attention spent on the art and performance culture at this event is nothing to be scoffed at. First of all, Toronto Island is incredibly beautiful and should invoke some really laid back, tropical-beach-type vibes. This is just the tip of the iceberg, though, because the art and other activities available for ticket holders at Bestival really are the festival’s shinning stars.
Go check out the Yarn Bombing Tent for a chance to work with some of Toronto’s best and brightest young artists on different projects throughout the length of the festival. One may also choose to go to the Bollywood Theater and pay homage to India’s cinematic golden era. Or maybe wedding bells are in the air? Go get hitched with your significant other at the Bestival Inflatable Church. There will also be a costume party and parade on Saturday for anyone wanting to let their freak flag fly for all too see. On top of all of this sits even more fun (and booze) at the Day of The Dead Cocktail Bus and Sunday Best Balearic Bar.
With the Bestival 2015 lineup so well crafted and more activities than are possible in single trip, it would be quite difficult to pass up this festival. If you find yourself craving some Bestival tickets this June, GA 2 Day passes are going to cost you around $160, while single day passes are about $88. Patrons will also be required to pay for the ferry ride that takes them to the island each day, costing $14.00 for 2 days. VIP 2 Day Passes, dubbed Lucky Lounge Passes, are going to cost almost $300, but offer a wide variety of amenities such as an included ferry ride to the island, express entry to the festival and access to the Lucky Lounge, which is home to loads of delicious street food vendors, the best washrooms on-site and some really great places to get a drink.
Bestival Toronto is following in its big brother’s footsteps by curating an incredible Bestival lineup, showcasing some amazing art and performances and providing a uniquely breathtaking atmosphere to house it all. This festival is going to be one for the books, folks!
