Calvin Harris made history at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2016, as he was crowned as the first DJ ever to be billed as a headliner at the annual festival’s last night. He will perform once again this Sunday, April 24th to close-out the monster of all festivals in Indio, California.
Yesterday’s performance was especially exciting for him, as well as, his fans; as he unveiled his touring production show. This particular version of the show included Rihanna, Big Sean and John Newman as guest performers. His girlfriend, Taylor Swift, plus Lorde and Camila Cabello were among the many adoring fans to be blown away by his grand performance.
Harris recently commented, “I’m very proud of the new stage show we’ve put together and couldn’t be more thankful to everyone who stayed out to party last night.”
Judging by his first performance, he should be proud. Like Rihanna isn’t enough, the show used customized software to fuse live show production with DJ world-flow aspects. The production was so huge that it set a record for the largest concentration of light at any show in history, requiring every Solaris Flare fixture in the U.S. The exclusive show elements took months to be granted permission from Coachella organizers.
The Grammy award winning producer, DJ and songwriter is proving to be one of the most successful performers of our time, winning the iHeartRadio Award for Dance Artist of the Year. He has also recently extended his residency deal with OMNIA Nightclub in Las Vegas through the summer.
