The Catskill Chill Music Festival just got a new and happy home! After six great years at a summer camp in Hancock, NY, the organizers of the festival are pleased to announce that the festival is making moves to a new location just a stones throw away from where it all began. Just 15 miles away, the new location, dubbed “New Minglewood”, located in Lakewood, PA., will offer many of the same amenities that dedicated fans have grown accustomed to including cabins for rent, paved pathways throughout the camp, a beautiful lakefront, covered stage facilities, free parking, and free camping. Furthermore, fans will still have their chance to enjoy daily yoga, wellness workshops, live art, a farmer’s market, craft and food vendors, a communal bonfire, an open mic and more.
Some new features to get excited about are an easily traversable venue, indoor movie theaters, super close parking and for the first time, an uncovered main stage to enjoy the music in the open air. But no matter what amenities are changed or transformed, one thing that will never change at this east coast celebration in the greens is “The Chillfam”. Over the six years running, many festival goers have returned for the annual experience and have referred to themselves as The Chillfam. It doesn’t take years to join this family, it only takes a common vibe that is “Chill”. Some people would travel all the way to the west coast to get a feeling of festival family, love for music, love of nature, self awareness and an overall enlightening experience. It isn’t necessary because all of the above can be found at The Catskill Chill.
“New Minglewood felt like home the second we set foot on the campus”, says Chill founder Dave Marzollo. “Ultimately, we appreciate what the Chillfam has grown to love and we want to continue to provide exactly that – an intimate experience which delivers big name acts up close and personal in a private environment where our ‘all love, all the time’ culture flourishes. We can’t wait to share it with the world.”
