Super Bowl parties won’t be the only type of events Chicagoans will be looking forward to this weekend, because one of the scenes most gifted groups at fusing electronic and jam together (aka “jamtronica”), Conspirator, is set to play for a soon-to-be sold out show at Chicago’s state of the art venue, the Concord Music Hall on February 1st during the group’s Dynasty Tour of 2014. Conspirator combines the talents of Disco Biscuits’ front man Marc Brownstein with fellow bandmate on the keys, Aaron Magner, and the shredding of guitarist Chris Michetti of RAQ and drummer KJ Sawka from Pendulum. Together, they create a sound that is truly unique, but at the same time touches on familiar genres from jam to edm.
Aside from seasonal touring, the group is no stranger to the music festival scene as well. In addition to playing a slough of festivals last year like Hangout Music Fest and Summer Set, they’ve already been announced to play Best Fest in Costa Rica, AURA Music and Arts Festival in Florida, and Buku in New Orleans in the next few months. Needless to say, between their side projects, music festival appearances, and a lengthy tour, the group members are clearly driven to please music lovers from all over the world as much as humanly possible.
Conspirator will continue to spread their sounds on tour for the majority of February and March after their Best Fest appearance. Supporting Conspirator this Saturday night are the likes of Prefuse 73, Nosaj Thing, and FALTYDL. If you can’t make it to the Chicago show or you just haven’t gotten a chance to the Conspirator throw down live, do yourself a favor and get tickets a date on their winter tour ASAP; you will not be disappointed!
