Just this week, the final names were added to the Dirtybird Campout 2016 lineup! Additional artists Justin Martin, Green Velvet, Ardalan, Will Clarke, Tourist, Justin Jay n’ Friends (Live), and—wait for it—Claude VonStroke! Yes, that’s correct Campers, the boss man of Dirtybird Records himself will be playing under both of his musical titles, Claude VonStroke + Barclay Crenshaw ((his actual name) (announced during the initial lineup release)). What’s the difference, you ask? That’s something you’ll have to find out with some research, or, by attending Dirtybird Campout for yourself!
Alongside the new additions, the Dirtybird Campout lineup features Reggie Watts, Shiba San, Sacha Robotti, Christian Martin, J. Phlip, Worthy, Catz n Dogz, Paranoid London, Pezzner, Billy Kenny, Sage Armstrong and many more! Due to the festival’s sheer size (est. 6500 people), and, that it’s a smaller, more intimate venue, a long lineup of names scheduled for only one-hour sets would be whack. Festivals like Chicago’s Lollapalooza that believe attendees have a better time solely because there’s more names on the lineup are sadly mistaken (in all honestly, they’re probably well aware, yet choose to make the buck instead of make their fans truly happy). Festival-goers want to spend more time with their favorites and Dirtybird Campout nails that aspect.
When it comes to activities at Dirtybird Campout, you better believe your trusted Dirtybird Camp Counselors got you on lock. How about Karaoke with Justin Martin, a boat race with Claude, Capture the Flag with J. Phlip, enjoy a moonlit stroll with Christian Martin (sounds romantic!), or how about whittling wood with Worthy (try to say 5 times fast) or sucking down some root beer floats with Grillson (assuming they’re come regular or spiked). Despite what you choose to do, the point is that activities are second nature at Dirtybird Camp.
On top of hands-on activities and music listed above, Campers can look forward to a comedy lineup (which may be lead by Reggie Watts, in addition to his performance on the BirdHouse Stage) and the infamous Dirtybird Talent Show! If you want to be a part of the show, all I can say is you better bring your A-game because these competitors aren’t messing around. Last year, Campers were fortunate to witness one of the best lap dances put on in history, a girl showing her campfire blow-jay skills off, a juggler (wah-wah-wahhh), and, a whole lot more. All and all, curators have planned for more than 50 different games and activities set to go down at Dirtybird Campout’s home of Silverado, California this October 5-8. By the way, did I mention the party goes all the way until 10AM Monday morning. To clarify, that doesn’t mean you have to pack up and leave the festival grounds by then. That means you get to PARTY with your favorite Dirtybird Counselors and your fellow Crew Campers until 10AM on Monday (just don’t get too partied out because you still have to leave at some point Monday).
