Curators of Electric Forest just announced a new initiative that is catered to the experience for women at Electric Forest 2016 called Her Forest. The Her Forest program is a creative partnership of women that focuses on the guiding principles of Connection, Inspiration, and Comfort.
The Women’s Group Camp, hosted by Edith Johnson of ‘The Festival Girl,’ is a special feature of the program that is designed for female festival-goers who are camping alone, or who just wish to create a community with other Forest women. It is located within the festival’s lively General Admission Campgrounds, offering easy access to any female attendees who wish to be a part of the creative experience.
Registration is open, and camping spaces in the Women’s Group Camp are limited, so those who are interested are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible. The code for registration is ForestWomen and registration is only $40.
The Women’s Circle, the newest feature in the Her Forest Program, will be hosted by Kiki Frederico, and is bound to be a fantastic experience. Using inclusion, unity, and equality as a compass for the program, The Women’s Circle will connect female festival-goers through the opportunity to gather as one, share stories, play games, and form friendships that will last beyond Electric Forest. Friday’s (June 24th) Women’s Circle event will be hosted at the crazy awesome Jubilee Tent, and Sunday’s (June 26th) event will be an all-inclusive event for both women and men to mingle.
The Forest Women Panel and Meet & Greet will also allow festival attendees to listen to some of the festival’s female artists as well as female creative minds who are responsible for the “behind the scenes” Forest magic.
With the emergence of music festivals incorporating empowering and creative programs into their schedules, it is amazing to see Electric Forest following suit with their Her Forest Program. So all you powerful, creative, music-loving women out there, be sure to check out the 2016 Electric Forest’s Her Forest Program.
