Electric Forest’s Fate Uncertian!

Rumors are beginning to swarm the internet and have the dedicated fans of the Electric Forest Festival waiting in a state of fear.  According to a recent post on Reddit , SFX Entertainment, an American media conglomerate founded by Robert F.X. Sillerman, is attempting to buy the Double JJ Ranch where the infamous festival is held.  If accomplished, a number of legal loopholes would leave the current agreement and lease null and void.  SFX owns several EDM promoters as well as festivals Tomorrowland, Stereosonic, Electric Zoo, the Voodoo Experience and more.  Recently, SFX Entertainment has attempted to acquire promoters and organizers of the festival, Madison House Presents.  Instead Madison House merged with promoters AEG Live.  Last November, the bank loans on the Double JJ Ranch changed several hands and in the language of these contracts, the sale of the ranch would include all collateral which also includes the lease.  Current owner, Progressive Resorts LLC is in discussion with SFX Entertainment regarding the resorts collateral and could be the fate of the EFF.  AEG and Madison House have already paid over $60,000 on the lease this year with another $60,000 due February 25th.  Over 21,000 advance tickets have been sold and will have to be refunded if the sale is made to SFX.  Although Madison House and AEG have made announcements via social media that the festival is still happening, the court will adjourn on February 28th.  AEG is seeking a preliminary injunction and restraining order regarding the lease.  The Double JJ Ranch was once the home of Rothbury Music Festival which was ended due to legal disputes.  Madison House has been a part of all the festivals held on the ranch since the first Rothbury Music Festival and they have gone to extreme lengths to make it’s festivals an AMAZING experience for all the fans who come each year.  Electric Forest has gained an immense amount of popularity in the Jam Band and EDM scene.  If it ends, there will surely be tears shed around the world.
