If you happen to be in Chicago for this weekends Phish run, you might enjoy a FREE artist showcase July 20th at the Congress Plaza Hotel, which is walking distance from the FirstMerit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island.  This unique show is a traveling exhibit that features the art created by those who are inspired by the infamous super jam band Phish.  Creator Pete Mason, a special education teacher whom resides in Albany, NY., came up with the idea shortly after Phish announced the band’s final shows in 2004.  PhanArt became Pete’s way to preserve the legacy of the Phish community.

Now this show has become a popular destination for artist to invite their phriends, phamily and phans to come and enjoy some great music and art while getting pumped to see the highlight of the weekend, that is….. PHISH!! Doors open for the event at 12 noon sharp so get their early to get your first choice of posters and pins.  Don’t miss the photo booth from ‘We’ve Got It Simple’, a documentary on Phish fans that will be filming at the show.

The final lineup for this years event include Ryan Kerrigan, TRiPP, Michael Boyer, Isadora Bullock, Screen ‘n’ Suds, Noah Phence, Fred Sutter, Andrew Bryant, Ryan Jerzy, Jeff Nesbit, Phil Kutno, Pin me Down, Graphic Translations, Melissa Goldenberg, Adam Davidoff, Party Time Pins, Dr. Wookles, Pins by CZ, Paul Bohensky, StuPINdous Creations, PerPINdicular Pins and Terra-Pins.
