There is no shortage of Flight Facilities on our playlists in 2021, but thankfully they are keeping it coming with their third collaborative single of the year, ‘Move’ featuring Chicago-based duo DRAMA. This funky new track delightfully takes us back to the earlier days of Chicago house circa 1980 through a combination of rolling piano progressions, snares, hi-hats, and the smooth vocals of Via Rosa; this instant classic is music to our ears.
Impressively written and produced in a single studio session, ‘Move’ is a reflection that fuses together both groups unique styles and talent. Flight Facilities are known for their ability to chameleon and blend their sounds to fit the strengths of their collaborators which contributes to their range and ability to work alongside a lengthy repertoire of artist backgrounds. That is why in ‘Move’ DRAMA is able to highlight their trademark dance meets R&B sounds.
Both pairs are great fans of one another's work and were grateful that the opportunity to collaborate in the studio pronounced itself. Flight Facilities noted that they have been long time fans of DRAMA since 2016 and could not have found a better duo to create this “ode to piano house, and the pioneers of 909 drum-machine music” with.
Drama added:
“We met Hugo and Jimmy at the studio and immediately connected. This track felt like a bit of a throwback and an homage to Madonna, and a great fusion of what DRAMA and Flight Facilities each brought to the table. We were honored that we were able to collaborate with Flight Facilities, two legendary artists that work really hard. We’ve been fans for so long and always wanted to meet them and work together.”
‘Move’ is the perfect example of the beauty in unlikely pairings, and we can all certainly agree that there are no boundaries when it comes to creating such expressions in dance music. Look out for this single on all streaming platforms, available for download now!
