Since 2002 The Forecastle Festival has been become a major gathering point for over 75,000 annual fans who come to celebrate art, music, activism and life. This unique festival in Louisville, Kentucky is nestled along the Ohio River in Downtown Louisville’s Waterfront Park. Over the years, the festival has hosted an eclectic lineup spanning from jam bands, folk, bluegrass, rock, electronic and more.
Fans have had the chance to rock to Wilco, My Morning Jacket, The Black Crows and Robert Plant. Or let their minds flow to the psychedelic jams of Umphrey’s McGee or The String Cheese Incident. There’s always a chance to get your fix of BASS as seen in the past years of Pretty Lights, Bassnectar and Girl Talk. And all this is without to mention the music that calls this neck of the woods home…bluegrass. Some favorite pickers who’ve stomped this turf include Del McCoury, Yonder Mountain String Band, Willie Watson, Trampled By Turtles and more.
The festival has already announced a bundle of amazing artists for this years lineup, but they are not done yet. Over the next week, organizers will unveil the remainders by offering a series of clues on the Forecastle social media sites, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
