Freaky Deaky 2015 Surpasses All Ghoulish Expectations

by on

What started as a single day concert featuring only a few DJs has transformed into one of the biggest 3-day music festivals occurring around Halloween. The 7th annual Freaky Deaky music festival went down as a huge success as thousands of bass-craving fans gathered at Toyota Park in Chicago to dress in their most ghoulish attire and rage to their favorite performers. Big-name acts like Pretty Lights, Bassnetar, Armin van Buuren, Richie Hawtin, Carnage, Big Gigantic, Datsik, GRiZ, Mac Miller, 2 Chains and more rocked the stages with unique sets that incorporated music inspired by the dark holiday.

In addition to headlining acts within the Freaky Deaky 2015 lineup, major players in the uprising house music scene flourished throughout the well-designed stage setups. DJs like Gesafallstien, Justin Martin, Shiba San, Dubfire, Pete Tong, Joris Voorn, Gene Farris, Will Clarke, and Hannah Wants reigned supreme when it came to raging house music for the masses at Freaky Deaky.

Local talent on the ballad also did a wonderful job representing their stomping grounds. Hometown heroes GoodSex, The Pool House, The Trap House, Chris V, Derek Specs, Milk N’ Cooks, Porn & Chicken, and Midnight Conspiracy all crushed their sets to start the vibes out right.

Of course there are many more names that did more than their part to ensure those who attended Freaky Deaky had an excellent auditory experience, but on top of that, the visuals from pyrotechnics to those dressed to the nines in their freakiest gear added to overall fun inside the festival grounds. Seeing about a hundred Hunter S. Thompson getups was quite a delight, especially when you saw lookalikes and their crew dancing like there’s no tomorrow, riding a giant Ferris Wheel, playing carnival games, or enjoying themselves at one of the many other attractions spread across the venue.

Considering all the factors the contributed the overall fun at Freaky Deaky, I’d have to say this was one of the best festivals that Chicago-based promoting mogul, React Presents, has ever thrown in the company’s history. If you didn’t get a chance to make it out this year, make sure to attend next year because with the success of this year’s installment, Freaky Deaky 2016 is going to be even bigger and more done up for your ghoulish pleasure.
