These guys are the truth, the real deal, and ultimately the original fathers of funk. On February 27th, the Funky Meters played electric, star studded show at Chicago’s Concord Music Hall. The band’s currently lineup features Art “Poppa Funk” Neville (Keys), George Porter, Jr. (Bass), Brian Stoltz (Guitar), and Terrence Houston (Drums). The Funky meters put on a masterful performance at The Concord, delighting fans with over 2 hours of music from their immense musical catalog. Overall, the show was a real, NOLA style celebration of the very best kind hosted by Silver Wrapper and Fiyawerx Productions. The evening was a funk filled party, overflowing with music, and Music Festival Central was fortunate enough to have Ashley Marie Downing there to document it all.
