The fourth annual Gasparilla Music Festival is back again this year with an incredible musical lineup that features national and local acts spanning from a wide range of genres. Gasparilla 2015 will be held on March 7th and 8th in Curtis Hixon Riverfront Park and Kiley Gardens in downtown Tampa, Florida. What started as a local music-themed festival has developed into a much-anticipated event for residents and visitors alike.
The Gasparilla lineup features over 40 acts from across the country the county including Modest Mouse, The Gaslight Anthem, and Gogol Bordello along with Tramped By Turtles, Mutemath, The Budos Band, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, Hiss Golden Messenger, Roadkill Ghost Choir, The Hip Abduction, Hot 8 Brass Band and many more.
Not only will Gasparilla feature a wide range of musical acts, but foods from the region’s top restaurants will also be bringing their talents to the table. Vendors include some of Tampa Bay’s most popular restaurants, including The Refinery, Ella’s American Folk Art Café and Carmines. In addition to the amazing food and music, a variety of independent regional brewers and distillers, including the local Cigar City Brewing, Austin’s Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
Even though Gasparilla Music Festival may be relatively new, each year it has grown immensely and continues to gain in popularity across the board. While music is Gasparilla’s main focus, it also shines a spotlight on social conscience by promoting youth music programs, local music talent, environmental sustainability and public/alternative transportation options. The festival organization has also involved itself throughout the year with several initiatives in education and continues to provide scholarships to music students throughout the year.
