Catskill Chill Music Festival has announced that they are making a few changes. The Catskill Chill, which usually takes place the first weekend of September, is now taking place September 18 – 20. This may not have a huge impact on most festivalgoers, but the change of venue for Catskill Chill 2015 surely will. In a surprise turn of events, Catskill Chill will no longer be held at the sought-after Camp Minglewood in Hancock, Pennsylvania. Although the new location has yet to be disclosed, many fans of the festival and its grounds are upset about the change of venue.
Even though the festival is going through a transformation, this year’s fest is already promising a deserving goodbye. The Catskill Chill lineup is still up in the air, but anyone who has experienced “The Chill” in the past knows what is in store. From art installations to a nightly communal bonfire accompanied by open mic performances, Catskill Chill has all the makings of a beautiful and entertaining festival. Did I mention there is free parking and camping? Sounds good to me!
Blind Faith General Admission passes, the first tier of Catskill Chill tickets, are already sold out, but you can grab Early Bird weekend passes for right around $160. Many ‘Chillfam’ are disheartened with the news of the venue change in 2016, but this simple fact alone has to make one wonder, what kind of fare thee well will the festival and promoters have in store for patrons? No matter what may occur this year in Hancock, PA, I know I’m going down to Minglewood.
