The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival presented by Shell brings New Orleans to life in a way wholly different from the infamous crowds of Mardi Gras. Spanning from April 24 – 26 and April 30 – May 3, music lovers from across the globe converge upon the city for two surreal weeks of nonstop tunes fueled by the magic and mayhem found only at NOLA Jazz Fest.
During Jazz Fest 2015, nearly every genre of music imaginable will be represented on 10 stages over the course of two music-filled weekends. It’s an exploration of culture complete with amazing food and local artisans. A short list of headliners for the Jazz Fest 2015 lineup include Elton John, The Who, Lenny Kravitz, Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga, Keith Urban, Wilco, Widespread Panic, Ed Sheeran, Hozier, No Doubt, Jerry Lee Lewis, and many, many more!
There is a vibrant audience culture, with people forming “krewes” many with members spread across the country meeting up to share their love of music and culture that is Jazz Fest. At night, New Orleans-style Jazz abounds, full of boozy beats and ripping brass solos; with shows starting as early as 2 AM and continuing until sunrise. Artist collaborations are common, with Jazz Fest staples including Marco Benovento, St. Charles, Mike Dillon, and New Mastersounds making appearances at legendary venues like Tipitina’s, House of Blues, Howlin’ Wolf, One Eyed Jack’s, and The Maple Leaf.
