2014 was a heavy hitting year for the funky Karl Denson and his band Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe.  Their tour was stacked and included festivals such as Jungle Jam, Bottle Rock Napa and Phases of the Moon.  They released an album “New Ammo” witch features contributions from Nicki Bluhm and tributes to Jack White.  Furthermore the band has payed tribute to classic hip hop stars RUN DMC at several venues and has received excellent reviews.  To top it all off, Karl Denson toured with rock legends The Rolling Stones on their New Zealand and Australia tours!

Karl Denson is a Jazz, Funk, R&B and Jam, Saxophonist, Flutist and Vocalist.  He brings high energy to every show and clearly plays from the pit of his soul.  Since the late 80’s he has performed with several bands with the likes of Lenny Kravitz and The Greyboy Allstars and recorded with artists including Jack DeJohnette, Dave Holland, Slightly Stoopid, Blind Boys of Alabama, Blackalicious, Stanton Moore, and Jon Foreman of the rock band Switchfoot.

2015 is already shaping up to be a great year for KDTU with their 13th Jam Cruise (every Jam Cruise!!), a winter tour that will be bringing the heat to several U.S. cities and an early spring performance at the McDowell Mountain Music Festival in Phoenix, Arizona.  In the past, KDTU has payed tribute to several artists such as The Beastie Boys, Ray Charles and previously mentioned RUN DMC, and all have showed great response from fans.  Recently announced, the band will add another legend to its tributes.  Bob Marley.  At Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, NY, on February 6th, KDTU will pay tribute to reggae legend Bob Marley in celebration of his 70th birthday.

If you are at all aware of this band’s capabilities, you can only imagine how sweet this show will be.  It will be a once in a lifetime experience for funk, reggae and KDTU fans.  The horns will blast and reggae beats will drop!!  It’s gong to be a funky reggae party at Brooklyn Bowl!!!
