Sabajaq has hosted the likes of Green Velvet, DJ Hell and Monika Kruse and is known for its distinctive art work, experimental installations and always on point, edgy soundtracks. For two years the night has been set up at EGG and its reputation is deservedly sky high. This latest booking is proof of what makes it so special once again.
Garnier hasn’t played in the capital since February, and this will likely be his last gig in the city this year. He will be playing a special four hour set that will really allow him to dig deep and offer up a superb showcase of his famous techno sounds. From high octane to weird and wonderful to deep and dreamy, Garnier has done it all over his long and storied career.
Support on the night will come across all three rooms with house, techno and disco covered by Sabajaq residents including Warboy—a DJ, promoter and producer who has tracks in the Beatport charts on labels like Kinetica and Quantize—and Maze & Masters, who are two female DJs with a dark techno sound and who are residents at Solid Groove. They will back up the main man with some infectious sounds from the worlds of house and techno and really put the club’s sound system through its paces.
What’s more, the main room at EGG, which is 36 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs and will be decked out with stylish dancers and special performances, has been overhauled and will be newly open for this event.
The last time Laurent Garnier played at EGG it was a sold out show, so this one is set to be just as special.
