Truly intimate and genuine gatherings to celebrate music, dance, and love are few and far between in the current state of over saturation in the global music festival scene. Though still embodying the heart of the amalgamation between nature, human spirit and music, Burning Man has naturally become increasingly more commercial and larger in breadth which has now led to the births of such wonderful “mini-festivals” like Further Future.
Acting as almost a little sibling to Burning Man, Further Future launched for the first time in Spring of 2015 on a small patch of desert in the Moapa River Indian Reservation less than an hour north of the city of sin, Las Vegas (most notably home to the one of the largest EDM festivals in the world Electric Daisy Carnival).
After heightened mystery before its debut last year, Further Future undoubtedly executed with finesse and an added bonus layer of an aura of true “entertainment/tech intellectuals” through hosting panels and tech talks before the night to sunrise dancing sessions. The few thousand attendees, per the usual practice of Burning Man and Robot Heart, were approved invitees only, and camped for the weekend in luxurious tent houses while dancing into the mystical desert mornings alongside top notch DJ acts like Zimmer, Zhu, Nosaj Thing, and Monkey Safari.
The second rendition, Further Future 002, has since piqued the curiosity of even more festival-goers that are searching for truly authentic experiences. The hype has officially begun after the announcement of the confirmed dates ( April 29, 2016 – May 1, 2016) and three phases of lineups that include some of the hottest names on the underground electronic market like Lee Burridge, Fort Romeau, HVOB, Rampue, Four Tet, Nicolas Jaar, Kid Koala, &ME, and Dixon to name a few.
Watch out for this new kid on the block as Further Future will be one of the most talked about and sought after festivals in 2016 and beyond!
