The annual Lockn’ Festival returns for its fifth consecutive year with four full days of non-stop music, food, beer, artist collaborations, camping, and more. Taking place August 24-27, 2017 it is the county’s largest event, bringing in more than 20,000 people each year to Infinity Downs Farm in Arrington, Virginia.
Lockn’ Festival was created by Dave Frey and Peter Shapiro, some of the best industry veterans that saw a need for a distinct music festival that could be more identifiable with others. Frey and Shapiro got the name Lockn’ from the interlocking performances presented at Wetlands and the continuous flow of music that keeps it all together. By having two side by side main stages, Lockn’ stays true to its name giving the audience a fantastic experience like no other. With that being said, Lockn’ is one of the country’s most unique events as the festival takes place with the Blue Ridge Mountains as its backdrop. The environmentally friendly festival makes it an even more so incentive to experience music like nowhere else with locally sourced food and recycling programs.
This years festival can expect performances by John Fogerty, Phil Lesh, The Avett Brother, and Bob Weir as he performs the Grateful Dead’s Terrapin Station. Also, The Revivalists, Umphrey’s McGee, String Cheese Incident, Widespread Panic, Gov’t Mule, and many more.
