Desert Hearts Records' newest recruit is Luke Mandala, who presents us with a fiery new EP in 'Fire Eyes.' It's an indoor party starter, built to rock the body with punchy bass and cunning synthwork.
'Fire Eyes' has two sides to it; its title track is more aggressive in tone, leaning on a heavy low end and acid-tinged melodic elements to create a full bodied peaktime tune. "You Know" takes on a lighter tone, but still packs plenty of heat. Aja Monet's vocalsa add a particularly psychedelic vibe to the tune, while bits of acidic synthlines and feathery melodies in the breakdown make for a fun listen overall. Finally, Luigi Rocca adds Euro tech appeal with his remix to "Fire Eyes," building a simple, yet impactful tune around its anchoring bassline.
