The Washington native Macklemore, accompanied with a team of extraordinary producers, singers, and songwriters, including the great Ryan Lewis, are blowing up in the festival scene, not to mention the rest of the world. The group’s album, The Heist, was released in October of 2012 and has gone “Gold” by selling more than 500,000 copies. The album shows no signs of slowing down in popularity with hits like “Thrift Shop,” “Can’t Hold Us,” and “Neon Cathedral” featuring fellow Washingtonian Allen Stone.
In the live music scene, Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, and friends, plan to take Europe by storm with a Fall tour, but before that, the group will attend big-name music festivals in North America. Napa Valley’s Bottle Rock and Alabama’s Hangout Music Fest on the white sandy beaches of Gulf Shores are one of their first at bats this season. After their beach excursion they’ll head to Sasquatch!, Bonnaroo, Made In America Music Festival, Camp Bisco and many others this year, even including a festival in British Columbia called Squamish.
