Seth Troxler plays Mint Festival at RAF Church Fenton at Leeds East Airport on Saturday 28th September along with the likes of Patrick Topping, Loco Dice, Gorgon City, Eats Everything, Enzo Siragusa, Claptone and Richy Ahmed.
The festival is a multi-stage affair with huge production, hangars, shipping containers and much more.
Before then, we get you in the mood with a look at five of the Detroit techno icon’s best tunes. Of course, he has also spent years in a collaborative outfit Visionquest but here we assess his solo cuts.
Love Never Sleeps
A deep, dreamy cut with perfect wavy bass and bendy synths that sinks you into a psyched-out state and keeps you there for seven sublime and superb minutes.
Blackclap
A super-fresh tune with punchy minimal drums that continually keep you on your toes and a wriggling percussive line and amped up bass keep on lifting you up. It sounds like nothing else.
Still Hot with Shaun Reeves
Another deep, cuddly tune with underlapping drums and gently lifting hits overlaid by an intriguingly intoxicated vocal.
Signs
This is a remix under his rarely used Thrill Cosby alias that takes you deep down the rabbit hole where sci-fi sounds and warped pads turn you in on yourself.
Friend of Mine
Seth’s most dark and experimental tune, with is own vocal, gurgling and rugged synth textures and supple minimal drums.
