Just recently, the midwest’s top-rated electronic music festival, Movement Electronic Music Festival (Movement Detroit), has unleashed a superior round of artists that have been added to this year’s lineup! Artists added to the Movement Detroit lineup include Alex Metric, Eddie C, Joesph Capriati, Kill The Noise, Matthew Dear, Mija, RZA featuring Stone Mecca, Shady P, What So Not and about 50 more world class acts. With even more acts still to be announced, the current Movement Detroit lineup, which is set to unfold downtown Detroit, Michigan in Hart Plaza this Memorial Day Weekend (May 29th – 31st), consists of roughly 100 acts! Needless to say it’s going to be a crazy time in Detroit that weekend.
Now, in addition to the solid Movement lineup, you must keep in mind that the lineup for Official Movement Detroit afterparties is one of the best in the world when it comes to after-festival festivities. That said, if you’re debating about attending Movement of another one of the slough of Memorial Day Weekend music festivals, the fact that Detroit is turned into an adult playground for electronic music lovers from across the world for nearly a week should convince you attend this year’s showcase!
When considering which official Movement Detroit afterparties to attend, also keep in mind that the famous ones like Seth Troxler’s day party at Old Miami, alley-way sunrise parties at TV Lounge, and other daytime ragers spread across Detroit, start 7am. In addition to planning on which ones you’re going to attend, you should plan the time of arrival, as well. Most Movement Detroit official afterparties will have a long line. Finally, I know it’ll be hard for many, and simply not an option for the masses, but try to get proper sleep while you’re attending Movement Detroit. From the afterparties starting when they do (not including the ones that start after the festival gets out at midnight on a nightly basis), the festival experience will take a lot out of you, and you’ll find that some rest and proper hydration are very necessary to continue to party properly throughout the long, holiday weekend.
Movement Detroit tickets can be found on the festival’s website for just $75 for a single-day pass, or $175 for a GA 3-day wristband, or, only $300 for VIP! Movement Detroit VIP tickets include a laundry list of benefits, and best of all, access to actual bathrooms is included! Compared to other festivals that start at $299 for GA, you’re really getting a WOMP for your buck with a Movement VIP ticket for this year’s event. With additional talent to be announce as a part of the already-stellar lineup, amazing pricing on tickets, the best afterparties on the planet, Movement Detroit is going to be one of the best festival experiences in 2016.
