Mumford & Sons announced that on May 4th they will release their third studio album, Wilder Mind. The band is changing things up and taking on a different approach with Wilder Mind. The new album, produced by James Ford, was written sporadically in London, Brooklyn and Texas and does not feature any acoustic material. They have also hired a drummer to join them on their upcoming tour. From the press release, the 12-track album is described as having a “minimalist yet panoramic feel”, whose sound Marcus Mumford describes as “a development, not a departure.”
The band has also revealed the first string of their Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers, along with the album announcement. Each stop within the tour will be a two-night concert spectacle, in which Mumford & Sons will be accompanied by a multitude of artists including The Foo Fighters, Alabama Shakes and The Flaming Lips.
