Get ready to gather in magnificent San Francisco for 6 days for film, visual art and of course, live music because Noise Pop is ready to transform the Golden Gate City into a mecca of indie art presented by elites in the independent film industry. During February 25th – March 2nd festival promoters will do their best to provide events brimming with immeasurable stimulation for festival-goers to enjoy throughout the city’s venues.
There are more than fifty musical acts scheduled to play Noise Pop this year, orbiting every inch of the genre spectrum. All the bases are well covered when it comes to a wide variety of sounds; including folk-ish sounds from Vetiver and Lord Huron, high energy electro tunes from Com Truise (aka Mord Fustang) and Digital Mystikz, and the ever-varying sounds of rock from No Age to Throwing Muses, Rogue Wave, and Real Estate to Dr. Dog. These amazing artists and a laundry list more will serenade some of the city’s most stunning and historical venues like the Regency Ballroom, Slim’s, the Fillmore, and The Independent.
The Noise Pop Film Series will be hosted at a few of SF’s many fine independent theaters. Featured this year are 7 films about indie music and all of the ups and downs that accessorize the industry. Mistaken for Strangers and Swim Little Fish Swim play at the Roxie Theater, Brothers Hypnotic and Death Metal Angola premiere at New People Cinema; and at Artists’ Television Access people can see Revenge of the Mekons, Bayou Maharajah: The Tragic Genius of James Booker, and, Kids Like You & Me.
At Noise Pop 2014 you’ll be globetrotting through a colorful city of stages with art, music, and film for you and your festi-friends to enjoy for a whole week long!
