by on

The lineup for the second annual Oak Street Block Party in the Uptown neighborhood of New Orleans has just been announced, and it is a doozy. The Oak Street Block Party lineup will feature the Oak Street All-Stars, made up of some of the best local talent the city has to offer. The band will include Oteil Burbridge, Kofi Burbridge, Roosevelt Collier, Adam Deitch, Adam Smirnoff, Jesus Coomes, Ryan Zoidis, Maurice Brown and Natalie Cressman. Other incredible acts on the bill are Leftover Salmon, The Nth Power, Kung Fu, The Heard, Eddie Roberts West Coast Sounds, Sonic Bloom and Hard Proof.

Oak Street Block Party is organized in conjunction with New Orleans Jazz Fest and with the help of the guys over at Jam Cruise in an attempt to support Oak Street and the surrounding areas in the Uptown neighborhood of the Big Easy.

Did it mention this festival is free? Yeah, FREE! Local radio station WWOZ radio will be on site collecting donations for the station, but VIP packages are also available with all proceeds funding the cause directly. Fiyawerx, Brotherly Love Productions, Live For Live Music and the Maple Leaf Bar are also putting in their efforts to make sure this wonderful occasion takes place.  The event is taking place Wednesday, April 29th and will feature three different stages with music all day.

The culmination of all of the immensely talented artists booked for this event, NOLA Jazz Fest, and the rich and wonderful communities of Oak Street and Uptown can almost guarantee this to be one of the better happenings in NOLA during the annual spring celebration of music and life. New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is legendary in its ability to provide the Big Easy with some of the best music in the entire world and the addition of this epic party is just more icing on the proverbial cake. If you are in New Orleans for Jazz Fest, don’t sleep on this one folks, it is going to be an incredible time and with it benefiting the community it is being held in, what more could one ask for?
