Pandora Summer Party ft. Cold War Kids

Some of the most celebrated elements aspects of Lollapalooza are the aftershows, the perfect excuse to continue the party past the city’s 10 PM curfew. This year, some fans were lucky enough to check out these exclusive parties free of charge. Cold War Kids were selected by Pandora Radio to do just that at Concord Hall on Thursday night and served as a perfect start to the festival.

As soon as the doors opened, fans paraded inside the venue to secure their spot, indulge on a drink of their choice, take snapshots at the photo booth, and jam out to the opening DJ, Hesta Prynn. She played a set spanned numerous genres, from hard rock headbangers and nostalgic radio hits, and included some original material to show off her hip hop chops. Even though she played while most attendees walked in, her audience was engaged and gave her the respect she deserved.

Similar camaraderie was displayed when Cold War Kids hit the stage. The band walked with their arms wrapped around one another and were ecstatic to deliver. Their set was filled with new material and fan favorites, like “Hang Me Up to Dry”, “All This Could Be Yours”, and “Miracle Mile”. Even though the band isn’t featured on the Lollapalooza lineup or currently touring, their exclusive performance stirred excitement for what’s to come, possibly a future Lolla performance.
