Despite facing some rather serious hurdles last time around, Phases Of The Moon Music and Arts Festival, is making its triumphant return this year, albeit in a different location and on different dates. Phases 2015 will take place on fabled Mulberry Mountain in Ozark, Arkansas from October 16th – October 18th. Mulberry Mountain has hosted Wakarusa and Harvest Festival for quite some time and has proven to be a proper festival location and incredibly beautiful to boot.
This will be the second annual Phases Of The Moon Music and Arts Festival and it appears the promoters are sticking with the formula of hosting some of the best music in the industry. Not dissimilar to last year’s Phases of The Moon lineup, the Phases 2015 lineup is stacked and contains some truly unique artists and collaborations. The main headliner’s announced so far include STS9, The Disco Biscuits, Yonder Mountain String Band, Beats Antique, moe. Leftover Salmon, Xavier Rudd and The United Nations, Lettuce, ALO and Papadosio accompanied by a laundry list of other talented musicians.
Patrons will also get to experience the one-of-a-kind Lunar Landing Conspiracy, a collective of musicians from bands performing at the festival collaborating to create a unique musical voyage. This year’s contributors have yet to be released, but if last year’s incarnation is any measurement; expect some seriously talented artists to be involved. Festival-goers will also have the opportunity to experience another rarely seen gem, an STS9 “Axe The Cables” set, which will feature STS9 playing a collection of songs from their catalogue acoustically. STS9 has not performed an Axe The Cables set in over a year; so don’t sleep on this opportunity!
Phases Of The Moon is primarily a music festival, but the fest also offers one of the most comprehensive collections of art and performance artists of any festival. Phases 2015 promises to showcase boatloads of artists and their work. From performance artists like jugglers, aerialists and dancers to national and local sculptors and painters, the fest is going to feature some incredible art and host the vibes that accompany such art and performances.
Festival-goers will also have access to “The Sanctuary,” a central hub for like-minded individuals wishing to expand their minds and horizons. The Sanctuary will offer workshops, yoga, sound healing and massages.
Outside of this mass of fun, patrons of Phases can also look forward to having access to hiking, disc golf and a Phases Farmer’s Market!
General Admission Tickets for Phases Of The Moon will set you back around $165, but a separate camping pass must be purchased on top of that, either next to your car or tent only, each with their respective price. VIP tickets are $525 and do not require a separate camping pass, VIP ticket holders are permitted to camp next to their vehicles. VIP tickets also grant holder’s access to early entry on Thursday and all the other goodies that have come to be associated with VIP like upfront viewing areas, showers and free meals.
Phases 2014 had issues with organization and the unfortunately horrid weather conditions that haunted the festival last year, but that has not stopped the festival from coming back full-force. With the incredibly diverse Phases of The Moon 2015 lineup and the immense amount of art and activities, this year’s event is bound to be a blast and could set the new standard for what is to be expected of this newly coveted, premier festival.
