While the snow melts and our days stretch longer, the only thought on the mind of a true music fiend is waiting for is the commencement of festival season. In addition to the glorious weather change, Pitchfork Music Festival launched a lineup that will be remembered for years to come! 2014’s headliners include Beck, Neutral Milk Hotel, and Kendrick Lamar. Joining them is an array of other talented artists like St. Vincent, Danny Brown, Cloud Nothings, Real Estate, Schoolboy Q, and Earl Sweatshirt.
Pitchfork Music Festival has already established a dedicated following throughout the world and sets itself apart by not only being a music festival but also having a presence as an online music publication with a focus on independent music.
Tickets start at $130 for the weekend pass and $60 for a day pass. Considering that most of weekend passes for other festivals start at $200, this is extremely affordable and it would be a shame to miss out on this unique artistic movement. The 2014 Pitchfork Music Festival experience starts on Friday July 18, and last throughout the weekend till Sunday, July 20th.
This year’s lineup is one of the most diverse ever seen in the festival scene all together, stacked with emerging and established artists. It will be interesting to see the entire array of music cultures blend together in one eclectic sort of musical cocktail. Just to think that David Byrne and Danny Brown could possibly brush shoulders sends a tingle through our harmony bone; it’s always nice to dream of a crazy collaboration such as that one.
