Two years since his most recent tour, Derek Vincent Smith, the name behind Pretty Lights, has recently announced an ongoing mini-festival tour set to play in five (5) US cities in the next coming months. Pretty Lights excited fans back in May when he hinted through a series of short videos via social media that he would be heading on the road yet again.
The list of two-day, festival-like gatherings will kick off in Gilford, New Hampshire, followed by stops in Colorado at Red Rocks and Telluride, then a Midwest visit in Chicago, before wrapping up in Nashville, Tennessee this fall. At each stop, Pretty Lights will be bringing along his live band (featuring Brian Coogan, Borahm Lee, Alvin Ford Jr. and Chris Karns) and a variety of special guests curated by the man himself. The five specially curated events are more than just tour stops, but rather, as dubbed by Derek himself, as “episodic festivals.”
Taking place August 5th and 6th, this first stop on the tour has fans overjoyed as Pretty Lights recently came out with full details on his venture to the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford. The amphitheater offers a variety of accommodations seating-wise and has a capacity of just fewer than 8500 people, making it somewhat of an intimate setting, while ensuring that everyone in attendance will have a good view. The stop in the East Coast is especially significant because attendees of the show have an opportunity to camp!
In addition to being the only other stop to allow camping other than Telluride, the Pretty Lights New Hampshire visit is set to feature big-name acts Atmosphere, Tipper, Big Wild, G Jones, BrassTracks and Marvel Years, plus, newcomers Outlet and Wax Future will also be gracing the stage.
Atmosphere, a hip-hop duo comprised of rapper Slug (Sean Daley) and producer Ant (Anthony Davis) hailing from Minneapolis, MN, has been around and making music since 1989 with an extremely loyal fan base. David Tipper, aka Tipper, is an electronic music producer from Britain who has been around for years with ten albums out to date. Like Atmosphere, the past few years have been insane for Tipper, as he has gained much popularity the festival circuit and has been seen headlining festivals all around the states.
Tickets for all stops are on sale now on Pretty Lights’ website. VIP ticket options are also available for purchase at all stops, while camping passes for the New Hampshire tour stop can be purchased when buying tickets, or separately, through the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in the link below or by calling the box office at (630) 293-4700.
