The multi-platinum, seven time Grammy winner and multi-instrumentalist, Prince, has just announced what will be his most intimate and minimalist event to date. The Gala Event is set to take place this January 21st at Paisley Park recording complex in Chanhassen, Minnesota for two (2) different shows. One show will be at 8pm and the other at 11pm. During these shows, fans will get the pleasure to witness Prince in his most natural and pure musical state, as he will only be using a microphone and piano.
A show of similar, minimalist concept was set for late last year, but was postponed due to scalpers and the secondary ticket market inflating the price to ridiculous proportions. When asked about his decision to take on this concept, Prince stated: “For several reasons. For starters it is a challenge. You have to try new things. With the piano it is more naked, more pure. You can see exactly what you get”.
If you want to guarantee a spot at Prince’s pop-up concert series you must act right away as most tickets are already sold out. GA tickets are going for $100, while VIP tickets are going for $250.
