The lineup has been announced for the 8th annual Purple Hatter’s Ball, which is set to be held May 8th – 10th at the legendary Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (SOSMP) in Live Oak, Florida. This year, PHB will host music on five different stages, including a Silent Disco and a special Beach Stage located along the wild, black-water Suwannee River.
Throughout the weekend, Purple Hatter’s Ball will also include live art, yoga and workshops as well as access to the park’s endless on-site amenities such as swimming, canoeing, kayaking, biking and disc golf.
Purple Hatter’s Ball benefits The Rachel Morningstar Foundation (a non-profit 501c3 organization), in honor of longtime SOSMP friend and music festival lover Rachel Morningstar Hoffman (December 17, 1984 – May 7, 2008). The efforts of this foundation are dedicated to her memory.
As a 23-year-old Florida State University graduate, she was unjustly murdered while acting as a police informant during a drug sting on May 7, 2008. Soon after, Rachel’s Law, went into effect in 2009, establishing new guidelines for law enforcement when dealing with confidential informants in the state of Florida. This was the first of its kind in the U.S.
Currently each state, county, city, college campus or law enforcement agency sets their own standards, laws or guidelines as it relates to recruiting and using CIs. Due to the current lack of regulation on a country-wide scale, the foundation exists educate the public on the benefit for law enforcement guidelines within the use of confidential informants. The more you know and understand, the more you can impact change and make a difference.

Purple Hatter’s Ball will also host an official onsite PRE-PARTY on Thursday, May 7! Festival curators are inviting fans to arrive at SOSMP a day early to enjoy extra musical performances from Elephant Revival, Space Capone, DubConscious, Mouth, Cure For The Common and El Dub.
A limited number of Purple Hatter’s Ball early bird tickets are currently on sale for $79 + taxes and fees. Tickets will include three days of music and primitive camping. Tickets for the pre-party are $40 + taxes and fees, and include camping. The venue also offers guest comforts including a general store, a full-service restaurant, showers and water stations.
