Shambhala Or Bust!

by on

With just over a week left until Shambhala Music Festival opens its gates, electronic music fans from far and wide gear up to celebrate its 18th year of pure bliss. Lying just 20 minutes north of the Canadian/U.S border, Shambhala takes place on the Salmo River Ranch; festival grounds that offer as much rage as it does beauty. The mesmerizing farm is nested in a gorgeous mountain valley beside a refreshing river where attendees can enjoy the beautiful vibes as much as the transcendental beats.

Each area of Shambhala brings something special to the table. While each stage is stacked with top tier sound, they each have their own theme and lineup, giving them a unique feel.  Featured in the Shambhala lineup, and, who are set to play throughout the sacred festival grounds include Skrillex, Datsik, Tipper, Excision, Pretty Lights, Kygo, Big Gigantic, Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin, Thomas Jack and many, many more!

The “Grove” stage features flowering plant life that sets the tone for spiritual glitch-hop beats from acts such as Dave Tipper, while the “Amphitheater” sports a rowdy, circus theme with a diverse set of acts from local and afar. Featured smack dab in the middle of the majestic woods, the “Fractal Forest” is a constant party with up-beat, funky flavors.

The “Living Room” offers comfy sets along the river, while the “Pagoda” stage provides a ridiculously psychedelic home for the 4×4 sounds of the festival and features a slough of talent from the Dirtybird Records label like Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin, J.Phlip and more. The stage also is set to showcase headliners such as Pretty Lights. Finally, the Ewok reminiscent fortress known as the “Village” brings heavy bass flavors with dubstep acts such as Datsik and Excision along with UK glitch-hop legends Kursa & Koan Sound.

With the killer combination consisting of the Shambhala 2015 lineup to the stages the performers will play on and the areas attendees can roam, it’s no surprise tickets sold out a couple weeks back. For those who were lucky enough to snag Shambhala tickets, the madness will ensue from August 5th – 10th!
