Shipsomnia 2017 : Tale of the Kraken Music Festival and Caribbean Cruise is Culminating!

by on

Music lovers, adventurers, and travelers unite, on a 5-day cruise on The Brilliance of the Seas, through Barcelona (Spain), Ibiza (Spain), and Sete (France). The five-day, four-night experience known as Shipsomnia commences June 14-18, 2017 and includes a full itinerary of music, art, and other ocean-side activities.

The Shipsomnia 2017 lineup will be released three months prior to the ship’s sailing, but last year’s Shipsomnia lineup featured more than 40 DJs and producers that included the likes of Pete Tong, Zeds Dead, Armand Van Helden, Mat Zo, Claptone, Stanton Warriors, Jazzy Jeff, James Zabiela, Justin Jay, Yolanda Be Cool, DJ Marky, Amtrac, Treasure Fingers, Kastle and local artists from the region. According to the website, Shipsomnia likes to branch out of mainstream EDM performers and chooses artists to play at the event based on raw talent and their ability to light up a crowd. Shipsomnia brings in musicians of all genres, ranging from house to techno and hip-hop to drum & bass.

Aspiring talent can be discovered through “Open Decks.” Although there are extremely limited numbers of spots available, DJs and producers who have booked a cabin can send photos and a mix tape to artists@madfreshevents.com (more details to be announced in the future—check back on the Shipsomnia site for more info) for a chance to earn a spot onboard.

Alongside the 5 days of music and dance are a plethora of cruise ship activities including the “Shipsomnia Ball, which includes a costume contest to crown King and Queen of the ball, massive Sunset Party in Ibiza, yoga, swimming, sports, and meet and greets with the artists.

Pricing for tickets can be found on Shipsomnia’s website.  Did I mention that fare is all inclusive?!  In other words, your festival ticket includes room, board, food, drinks and activities.
