From dogs to DJs, Simon Cowell seems to be involved in every type of competition under the sun these days. Simon, and his company Syco Entertainment, have just announced a partnership with Yahoo! to create a new online show called The Ultimate DJ.
The release date of the show has not surfaced, yet the royalties have. One talented DJ will get a record deal with Sony Music, and, earn a headlining spot at a big-name music festival.
Upon announcing the big news, Simon immediately took to Twitter to proclaim the show’s creditability: “The show is intended to showcase the incredible talent that electronic music has shown the world. It will be made with respect.”
Whether the online series becomes a hit or not, it will help uncover new talent in the world of EDM, as well as make some fortunate festival patrons a part of history when they get to witness the winner of the first DJ competition of this magnitude perform live. Voting for the competition is set to occur on Tumblr.
