Every year for the past 10 years the mountains of Colorado have come alive during the Summer Solstice for the wildly idiosyncratic Sonic Bloom Music Festival. This year’s chapter in the festival’s history is being referred to as SONIC BLOOM: The Unified Field – 10 Year Family Reunion. Sonic Bloom Festival will be held again this year from June 18th through June 21st, although this year it is being situated in the new location of Rye, Colorado at the Hummingbird Ranch. This new home for the festival contains all of the little goodies that make Sonic Bloom such a fun and intimate festival, including a quaint little creek and plenty of trees for primo camping options.
Sonic Bloom has always been home to some of the electronic music world’s most spiritual and transcending acts. Regulars like Zilla and VibeSquad are returning this year, while the rest of the lineup has branched out from the humble roots that built the foundation of the festival.
The Second round of artists for Sonic Bloom 2015 have just been released and include some heavy hitters like Caspa, Manic Focus, Rob Garza of Thievery Corporation, ill-esha, Yamn, Nominus, LYNX, The Malah, saQi and Adham Shaikh. On top of all that talent there will also be an insane group dubbed Sonic Bloom SuperJam including members Dave Watts, Garrett Sayers, Joey Porter, Jans Ingber, Ryan Jalbert, Gabriel Mervine, Matt Pitts and Jason Hann. All of this wonderful music is already accompanied by acts like STS9, Shpongle (DJ Set), Emancipator and The Trancident featuring four members of the String Cheese Incident; Michael Travis, Jason Hann, Kyle Hollingsworth and Michael Kang.
On top of all of this madness is even more musical debauchery with the announcement of The Unified Field, the official Sonic Bloom pre party, taking place in Denver, Colorado April 24th and 25th at both Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom and The Other Side. Attendees of this year’s event will have the chance to see Thriftworks, Dirtwire ft. David Satori from Beats Antique, Andreilien, That 1 Guy, Fort Knox Five and more. Tickets for The Unified Fields are on sale now for $30.
As if the cats from Sonic Bloom couldn’t shove any more amazing music down our throats, they have managed to put together the Road to Sonic Bloom for the second year in a row. The Road to Sonic Bloom showcases past and present Sonic Bloom artists, DJs and performers in multiple cities across the United States in the months leading up to the festival.
With the plethora of acts, shows and performances incorporated into Sonic Bloom lineup this year, it is almost a travesty to miss it. 4-Day General Admission Passes are available for $204 and include onsite camping, Thursday festival entry, and free drinking water all weekend.
