Spiritualize At ARISE!

ARISE Music Festival, held at the Sunrise Ranch near Loveland, Colorado, will host its third installment this year during the weekend of August 7th through August 9th. The organizers at ARISE have made a name for themselves in the festival circuit in years past with their tenacious attempt to produce one of the greenest festivals in America, as well as their exemplary ARISE lineups and art installations executed with that same sense of tenacity and care.

This year’s festival is no different, offering patrons the chance to be a part of a festival with a purpose. Not only is ARISE offering a comprehensive lineup of artists from many realms of the music scene, but the festival is also offering a wide array of workshops, classes, art installations, group activities and so much more.

The music, in general, is usually the driving factor behind ticket purchases to a festival and with a lineup including Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Emancipator Ensemble, The Polish Ambassador, Ozomatli, Rising Appalachia, Trevor Hall and many more, the ARISE 2015 lineup is sure to garner some support and attention.

However, the music at ARISE is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. The real heart and soul of the festival lies in the wealth of knowledge and information about green initiatives and permaculture being passed along to patrons throughout the length of the event as well as the immense amount of art and artistic culture permeating the festival.

ARISE will feature a lengthy amount of different performers and artists scattered over the festival grounds. From a handful of live painters to roaming puppeteers and daily parades, no artistic stone shall be left unturned. Even this aspect of the event takes a back seat to the true star of this party; that knowledge spoke of earlier.

ARISE Music Festival is green, through and through, which is most evidently represented by the location of the festival, which sits on a 100-acre organic farm. This festy will also strictly enforces the “leave no trace” motto, where patrons and festival staff alike are encouraged to recycle and compost when possible. Efforts to enforce these kinds of behavior will be supported by ZERO HERO, a leave no trace group committed to keeping with the green theme of this event. On top of all the above-mentioned efforts, ARISE will also offer free drinking water for all festivalgoers, encouraging the use of reusable bottles and diminishing the amount of plastic waste. Also, in collaboration with the company Trees Water and People, festival organizers have pledged to plant a tree for every ticket sold!

For festival attendees that wish to expand their knowledge on the working world of permaculture, look no farther than The Polish Ambassador’s “Permaculture Action Day,” which will be taking place on August 6th at the Sunrise Ranch. This workshop will teach attendees all the ins and outs of permaculture through hands-on projects and tutorials. Patrons seeking a deeper and more expansive knowledge of the permaculture world may wish to attend the Intensive Permaculture Course, also hosted by The Polish Ambassador, taking place on the three days leading up to the festival. This workshop will only be hosting 30 preregistered guests; so if you are interested, get involved before it is too late.

Even MORE workshops and discussion will be taking place with other artists and musicians throughout the festival, touching on music, art and many other facets of life.

ARISE 2015 tickets start at around $130 for GA, but there are many other options and add-ons that make the festival as personally appealing to patrons as possible. Car camping passes can be bought for added convenience as well as a slew of RV camping options. VIP is also offered which features backstage access, VIP camping, VIP Lounge privileges, special parking, a VIP Happy Hour that offers free drinks and even a gift bag with all kinds of goodies.

ARISE Music Festival is really beginning to carve their place in the summer festival circuit. Coming from their humble beginnings as an electronic music festival, to their current state, the festival has made leaps and bounds in production and diversity. Hopefully things will continue to grow for ARISE and we will see a better and better festival each year. ARISE is going to be a blast and a significant learning experience for many, so make some time this August to make your way to Colorado and have some fun!
