The long time running experimental rock band, Swans, is making their way through the states on yet another US tour since the commencement in the early 80’s. On April 3rd, the iconic group will play for a packed house at One-Eyed Jack’s in music-friendly city of New Orleans. The group has gone through several lineup changes since their original gathering in 1982. At the moment they have a sound that is solid and only changing for the better with each performance.
In case you were wondering just how many albums a group like this has put together in their 30+ year existence, it’s about 20 albums. Yep, 20! If you want to be a part of their musical timeline, make sure you attend their show at One Eyed Jack’s or another venue along their long tour.
Michael Gira, the founder of Swans, admits to starting the group with no musical abilities. What Michael had was intuition and a drive to succeed in the industry. After creating Swans, Michael created more bands as well as produced music and found the time to run Young God Records. Young God Records manages a multitude of talent that reaches people all over the country with their indy rock/experiment rock sounds.
If you haven’t gotten to see Michael and his army of band members before, make sure you take advantage of this opportunity and go see Swans play live! If you happen to be heading to Coachella, make sure you check them out on April 11th and/or 18th.
