This past Saturday night, April 2nd, the psychedelic jamtronica 4-piece group, TAUK, lifted off from the stage of Chicago’s Lincoln Hall in front of an enthralled, sold out crowd. TAUK has recently gained a lot of momentum in the jam band circuit; especially after sharing the stage with Umphrey’s McGee at several shows on their winter tour (TAUKING McGee).
Catching the ear of some important listeners, TAUK, is filling their calendar with an extensive schedule for the spring and summer. Some notable events slotted for the group include Virginia Beach Funk Out, Summer Camp Music Festival, Rooster Walk Music & Arts Festival, High Sierra Music Festival, Red Rocks Amphitheatre (with The String Cheese Incident) and many intermittent shows with Umphrey’s McGee, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Stone Rabbits and many more.
TAUK shows no signs of slowing down, and, their growing group of dedicated followers (appropriately dubbed STAUKERS) are eagerly awaiting to consume everything they throw from the stage. TAUK’s sound is electronic ranging from heavy jams infused with jazzy funk sounds, to covers like Nirvana’s “In Bloom” to “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)” by The Beatles.
So, if you are at all a fan if the jam band scene, these guys are really something to ‘TAUK’ about. Here are some killer photos captured by Music Festival Central photographer, Daniel Peterson, at TAUK’s Lincoln Hall performance:
