Among the thousands of music festivals out there, it is important to pay homage to the festival that stands, since its inception in 1993, as now the longest-running dance festival. In May 2014, Mysteryland made its USA debut at the site of the legendary 1969 Woodstock Festival, and now returns for the second time. This year, Mysteryland USA lands on Memorial Day Weekend (May 22-25th) at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, NY.
Mysteryland has paved the way for other festivals by not only bringing a cutting-edge musical lineup, but welcoming festival-goers to an enchanting world of dazzling art exhibitions & light installations, immersive talks & lectures, theatrical performances, thrilling rides, interactive activities, and mouth-watering food options.
Each year, the Mysteryland lineup brings together fans from all over the world and keeps them dancing. The Mysteryland 2015 lineup does not disappoint in the slightest—there will be some of the sickest beats dropped by Diplo, Dillon Francis, Gramatik, Empire of the Sun, Kygo, GRiZ, Porter Robinson, Bro Safari, A-Trak, Goldfish, Sweater Beats, Manic Focus, The M Machine, Madeon, The Martinez Brothers, Beats Antique, and Frontliner. And that’s just a fraction of the list!
Mysteryland is more than just music—it’s a transformational fest that ties in music, visual arts, culture, and healing. Kevin Baltick, Brooklyn-based creative director and event producer, will showcase the brightest and most unique imaginations in New York and beyond. Mysteryland will feature The Gamelatron, the world’s first fully robotic orchestra, The Mal, an interactive audiovisual dome sound tracked to techno and visuals controlled by a Magic Hamster Ball, a larger-than-life paper mache costume head group called the Big Head Brigade, and the world’s largest Mousetrap board game.
Mysteryland-ers can explore the grounds and get in touch with their spiritual side at the Healing Garden, or be entranced by the ancient sounds of the didgeridoo at the Table Syndicate (formerly Bastinado). Mysterland’s Speaker Stage will feature powerful and inspirational speakers who will give enlightening and mind-opening talks on topics such as dreams, sexuality, unity, diversity, and survival. Festival-goers will have the chance to test their spiritual strength, but also their physical endurance on the mechanical bull ride at the Rodeo. Each morning will commence with deep house yoga sessions—the perfect way to start each day with balance and calm.
The Mysteryland 2015 schedule was just released today, so it’s time to start building your own ultimate festival schedule! Set times, a map, and more info you may need to know while on-site can be found on Mysteyland’s website.
