The Virginia Key Grassroots Festival of Music & Dance will return to Miami, Florida February 19th through the 22nd, 2015 at the Historic Virginia Key Beach Park. Grassroots 2015 has partnered with the Virginia Key Beach Park Trust to strengthen and preserve Miami’s culture. Together, they focus on the interaction between music, art, and the environment in the area, while developing and protecting one of Miami’s natural treasures.
The four-day Virginia Key GrassRoots Festival showcases some of the world’s most amazing and respected talents on 4 different stages throughout the weekend. The event will also feature: on-site camping, Beach Access, Sustainability Fair & Expo, Kids’ Area, Dance Tent, World Foods Cafe, a Zen Village Area with Healing Arts, Yoga, movement workshops, massage, meditation, crafts and more.
New to the event this year is a week-long Culture Camp preceding the festival, beginning February 15th. The Culture Camp gives you the opportunity to extend your stay on the beach while immersing yourself in music, dance, and movement & cooking workshops.
This “warm-up week,” is designed to allow visitors to make a destination vacation out of the festival and give locals a taste of the interactive style of entertainment and learning that the festival promotes. Culture Camp attendees of all ages can participate in a variety of workshops from 9am-9pm everyday, as well as participate in community building projects.
