As 2016’s New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival (aka Jazz Fest) continues into it’s second weekend, it’s the perfect time for attendees to enjoy as many local venues, artists, and events that the ever-so-musical of New Orleans has to offer!  One of the funkiest production houses within the city limits, Fiyawerx Production, is one event company that knows the needs of Jazz Fest patrons, and more importantly, the locals extremely well.  So well in fact, they’re known for throwing the most talked about parties during the historical festival.  One of their signature events, Fiya Fest, is about to commence.

On Wednesday, April 27th, music lovers will gather my the masses to enjoy the sounds of an array of different performers united together to celebrate the spirit of NOLA culture and unreal NOLA funk as Fiya Fest ignite’s the spark of Jazz Fest 2016’s final weekend.  Artists gracing the stages at Fiya Fest include Soulive w/ Maceo Parker and The Shady Horns, Robert Randolph and The Family Band, The Funky Meters, Karl Denson, Ivan Neville, Roosevelt Collier, Oteil Burridge, Jennifer Heartswick, Mike Dillon and many more.

Fiya Fest is set to commence at Mardi Gras World, located at 1380 Port of New Orleans Pl. from 1pm – 10pm.  If the artists and the atmosphere weren’t enough, proceeds will benefit an amazing program set in place to help preserve New Orleans’ most precious pieces of the city’s foundation, its musicians.  The program is called New Orleans Musicians Clinic (NOMC) and has been giving back to the community’s VIP’s by providing healthcare and wellness programs to local performers, despite their current mental, physical, and financial status.  When Katrina hit in 2005, the foundation kicked it up a notch and started the New Orleans Musicians Assistance Foundation (NOMAF) designed to preserve the city’s music cultures in hopes to keep music thriving.

Fiya Fest tickets will be available online until 1pm (EST) or you can purchase them upon arrival.  Tickets are going for $70 for GA and $120 for a VIP package that includes multiple drinks and authentic New Orleans cuisine.  Just remember, online sales end soon, so jump on these prices while you can.  If you can’t make it to Mardi Gras World for some of the flamest funk music in NOLA, you can still give to the cause by clicking the link below and donating what you can.  For those of you who will be there for this year’s funky festivities, make sure you check-out the raffle where they’ll be giving away artists memorabilia, and, a cabin on Jam Cruise 15 setting sail for Jamaica in early 2017!
