After months of editing, a film crew recently finished and released a full length documentary film about the madness that has been occurring at TomorrowWorld since 2013 (and, for more than a decade in Belgium at TomorrowLand). The film, This Was Tomorrow : The Motion Picture of a Magnificent Year, follows a group of individuals who each tell their own tail of how the festival has changed their lives and what TomorrowWorld means to them. Due to the fact there are three locations in the TomorrowLand family (Boom, Belgium, Sao Pual, Brasil, and Chattahoochee HIlls, Georgia), footage from all three festivals was included to tell the story.
In addition to TomorrowWorld festival-goers, the film also features interviews with artists like Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, Like Mike & Dimitri Vegas, AfroJack, Pete Tong, Hardwell, David Guetta, Steve Angelo and others as they discuss how much the festival means to them.
The film’s running time is by far one of the longest music festival documentaries as it runs for nearly an hour and a half. With so much unique content to be shot at TomorrowWorld, it’s no surprise the producers released it at the length they did. If this was just a festival trailer, I’d say it’s way too long, however, this film is so much more than a trailer. This Was Tomorrow grabs the viewer’s attention and does not let go until the very end. One thing to keep in mind: for now, the film is only available to be streamed online for just a week longer (December 1st – December 14th), so you must watch it soon! It has been embedded below for your viewing pleasure.
