Trevor Powers and Youth Lagoon recently made their way through Chicago and performed an ambient and psychedelic show to a packed crowd at the Metro. A row of giant white sails was the backdrop for the band. The crowd stood in amazement as if hypnotized by the sounds of their new album Wondrous Bughouse. The band presentes a sense of minimalism in their sound but the drawn out psychedelic chords hold the minds of the fans. With his first songs posted on the web in 2011, Trevor Powers has since signed two albums with Fat Possum Records and has been compared to the psychedelic ambience of Pink Floyd and the Flaming Lips. The band is just still on their spring tour and has festivals booked such as Sasquatch and Outside Lands.
